Clan of Champions Game Info

Clan of Champions is a single and multiplayer action fighting game set in a fantasy setting. It was released on November 23, 2011 in Japan as a PS3 exclusive. The game was announced at TGS 2011 to be released in Europe and North America in 2012 by NIS America on behalf of developer Acquire.

The game is also known as Gladiator Vs., and is a part of the Gladiator series which has included Gladiator Begins  and Colosseum: Road to Freedom the game is the first not to be set in ancient Rome.

The gameplay starts off slow but gets better as you advance through the game. You have 3 basic attacks that each focuses on one area of the body, the head, the body, and the legs. You start off with just basic combos and powers. You assign a spell or special combo attack to a certain button combination. You setup your character with armor and weapons of your choosing, you can buy them from the shop or after each mission you can choose to buy any armor or weapon an enemy was using during that mission. The shop will usually have crappy equipment, so you spend most of your money after missions. A problem I had with buying armor was you had to buy a piece of armor for each arm or leg. Most games let you buy metal boots and they go on both feet. In this game you have to buy two metal boots just to outfit your character.

Each level is almost exactly the same. You start off with your two teammates, and fight waves of different enemies. Some levels simply tell you to finish off two waves and you are done, others tell you to move on to another area to do the same thing over and over again. This is a major downfall in gameplay. You will get bored after five missions of this game, especially when some of the waves take fifteen minutes just to clear. There are 3 difficulties in the game and I would advise to just play the game on easy. Most levels are a breeze, but then the difficulty goes up and they spawn an enemy with weapons that take out all your armor in one hit, especially towards the end. On the second to last mission, you will feel like the entire game was a cake walk. This enemy is extremely over powered and will make you rage quit very fast. Why they make an entire game easy and then spawn this character I will never know.
